Text Box:            We have made it through the first week and I am so happy to say that your students have already grown so much. It always takes time to readjust to school. We have been reviewing basic skills they learned in Kindergarten. There are many ways that you can help your child get jump started into this year. Practice counting anything and everything. Count forwards, backwards, by 2’s, by 5’s, and 10’s. Another activity we practice in class is identifying letter names and sounds. This is something you can do easily throughout the day. Just ask them to identify the first/last sound in a word and what letter makes that sound. Or have them identify written letters. And if you ever need ideas on how to help your student at home please just ask.

We will be covering lots of important information that you won’t want to miss. We will review what you child will be learning this year. I will also explain their homework, which will be beginning soon.            As a class we came up with rules and expectations and we would like to share that with you. Hopefully, we’ll see you there!

Text Box: REMEMBER! Please bring your snack for our classroom pantry. Your child will always have a snack and you won’t have to get up early to prepare it. Also... There are a few students who have brought a sliding pencil box. We’ve tried to use these this week, but they really aren’t big enough for crayons, pencils, erasers, scissors, and other items that they are asked to keep in their pencil box.
