First Graders are Number 1!

Hello to all the wonderful people who are reading this.  If you can read this…THANK A FIRST GRADE TEACHER!

Here it is the beginning of another school year.  This will be the start of my 23rd year as a First Grade Teacher at Eisenhower.  Every year I enjoy seeing the growth my students make, and as the years go by, I enjoy seeing those students grow up to be wonderful teens and adults.

First grade is such an exciting year for growth.  The students learn so much and become confident in their own abilities.  The light bulbs come on and they get so enthusiastic about learning.  I am looking forward to helping another group of students get excited about all the possibilities their learning can open up for them.

Having graduated from Kansas State University, I am a fan of the Wildcats!  I love to swim, read, watch football, watch racing, and spend time with my friends and family.  I just became a “great” aunt this summer and can’t wait to go visit my nephew, his wife and new baby.  Another thing I love is Mickey Mouse.  When the kids see my room, they figure that out!  While I have no children, I continue to be controlled and owned by one totally spoiled cat named Missy.

As the year goes by, I hope to update things around here and provide links for activities you can do at home.  Be sure to check out the classroom page in the future for news and pictures!
